EBAY PARASITES STEALING FROM SENATOR AL FRANKEN, WITH EBAY'S PERMISSION

Senator Al Franken.

You're good enough. You're smart enough. And doggone it, you KNOW how much effort goes into writing a book.

Isn't it time you try what Senator Schumer and Senato Leahy failed to do? Push for stronger DMCA laws? Thanks to the weak laws, EBAY became a monopoly. Thanks to the weak laws, Jeff Bezos of Amazon became the American Mussolini. Thanks to the weak laws, the book, film and TV industries have become subsidiaries to Internet giants. Google lets people search for bootlegs and their YouTube is loaded with them.

But let's talk about YOU. A random check of your latest book shows it's being copied and sold by a variety of EBAY parasites. Among them:

How about THIS character? Another who figures you should share your paycheck with a parasite, just because EBAY allows it:

THIS parasite, like the rest, is robbing a whole bunch of authors:

Thanks to weak DMCA law, eBay can shrug like Sgt. Schultz of "Hogan's Heroes" and smirk, "We know nnnnnuthing. We're just a venue." Use a "REPORT THIS" link, and nothing happens. Their excuse when you call phone support at 1 (866) 540-3229: "We have millions of auctions. Our staff can't get to them all. Try again."

That's if you reach somebody in Pakistan who you can understand, and if you didn't mind having awful music blasting at you during the ten minute wait.

Their answer is for YOU to see these auctions (obviously, you have not) and then take a minute to send the auction number to vero@ebay.com. That's if you're a VERO (Verified Rights Owner) like I am. If not, they pay no attention.

The problem, as you can see, is that you have no idea you're being ripped off.

Your publisher is not protecting you, which is stupid. Your publisher is allowing people to get books at NO profit to you or them. The message? "We're too rich to care." Or, "We can't afford to pay Digimarc or Web Sheriff a few dollars per stoppage."

Either way, the parasites win. The bidders usually have no idea they are getting bootlegs, and think this is some kind of legitimate bargain.

Meanwhile Mom and Pop bookstores keep closing, libraries reduce their hours, and the average author gets a crap advance for putting in long, long hours at what amounts to below minimum wage. At these prices, many are too exhausted from the day job to bother, and others don't have the money to research their projects. The result is too often shoddy books knocked out by hacks.

Celebrity authors such as Al Franken, and best sellers like the Three Little Pigs, J.K. Rowling, E.L. James and George R.R. Martin, get the big advances. PS, they'd busy on Twitter and don't care that they're stabbing their own colleagues in the back. Maybe they don't like competition.

Naturally, I hope you lean on your publisher to DO BETTER. If you need a VeRO rep, free, I'm available. I do it for a lot of celebrities (and I don't name them, it's confidential). You can assign an intern, a relative or a friend to be your VeRO rep and eBay does allow more than one.

MOST important, it's time EBAY, GOOGLE (and their YouTube and Blogspot) and Amazon and the rest stop smirking about how they can do anything they like because the law can't touch them. This includes eBay's habit of allowing their sellers to offer fake nude images of stars you and I know, because "heh heh, we're a venue, we profit from every sale, and no, we are NOT obligated to ask a seller if he has permission or a model release of consent. Ha ha."

GOOGLE has gotten hit by various European governments with lawsuits. Isn't it time American politicians at least get together and work out a way to tame these Internet monsters? SOFA didn't make it, but there must be some way of getting a common sense bill passed that will force an outfit such as eBay to obey American law, and to take some responsibility for what's on their site.

You're good enough. You're smart enough. And oh, the things you know. How to get fairness for I copyright and intellectual rights owners...you know how to do that?

Brit Twit: Lah Dee Dah, I'm Victoria Watson, 42, and I CAN COPY LEE CHILD'S BOOKS!

"FOR EBAY: This listing complies with all eBay rules and regulations. The items are in the public domain. No trademarks, copyrights or eBay rules have been violated in this listing. This product fully conforms with eBay compilation and international media policy and downloadable media policy.

This item does not infringe any copyright, trade mark, or other rights or any of eBay's listing policies or spam policies."

So LAH DEEEEEE DAH.

If VICTORIA WATSON says so it MUST be true.

At least, if it involves STEALING FROM LEE CHILD (who is not in public domain) or J.K. ROWLING (who is not in public domain, although Twitter IS her public domain) or R.L. STINE. Or two dozen others.

If VICTORIA WATSON posted an auction for heroin, and said, "This item does not infringe, no laws have been violated," would eBay believe her? OF COURSE NOT. They wouldn't shrug and say, "Gee, maybe heroin is legal now. Let's not ask her for proof."

VICTORIA WATSON is so arrogant and self-entitled, so SURE she's allowed to take the royalties off Lee Child and anyone else, she even uses her name for her EBAY tag. VICTORIA WATSON, born in 1975.

She's old enough to know better.

But she's another idiot who figures copyright is copy WRONG, and if she bought a download (or got one off an illegal torrent or forum) it's HERS to do with AS SHE LIKES. LAAAAAH DEEEEEEEE DAAAAAAH.

She owns ALL these "public domain titles," and more:

There are a lot of VICTORIA WATSONs on eBAY, and their BUY IT NOW, I'VE GOT 10 OF THESE auction ads hang around for weeks and weeks, which tells you that the publishers are NOT paying attention. They are NOT sending takedowns.

They ARE sending the message of, "Go ahead, we're rich, we can ignore this, even if it's happening on the most high-profile auction site on the planet."

$750 in 30 minutes? Putin would be PROUD of this Destroyer of American Publishing

ONLY on EBAY.

Where else could members of our arch enemy, the bloodthirsty, evil, Copyright-hating RUSSIAN FEDERATION, get such EASY trade agreements?

"Eh, I am seller. Yes.

What you care what. Copyright no matter for ME!

You get commission, you EBAY and your comrades at PAYPAL. So why care?

American law say you can let anyone from RUSSIAN FEDERATION sell any shit they want. You look other way! Ha!

Why take special care to check what someone like ME starts to sell?

Why SUSPEND someone like me after, oh, a mere ten or twenty "REPORT ITEM" violations?

Eh? What for? Eh? I like make money. You take percentage. We are FRIENDS."

Not friends to authors, of course.

How nice that this prick got 75 sales on this $10 bootleg. That's NICE money for doing nothing.

But we all know, authors are just typists. It's easy. They should do it for the prestige. Let the RUSSIANS make the money. And eBAY and PAYPAL.

Textbooks Bootlegged on eBAY at $30 profit to PARASITES

It isn't just BEST SELLERS by fat-cats like E.L. James and George R.R. Martin that get the EPUB MOBI treatment on EBAY.

How about those EXPENSIVE textbooks?

Isn't that UNFAIR? So much money for a TEXTBOOK?

"Information should be free!" No, wait, how about a kindly EBAY parasite selling the PDF for a bargain price?

You hear it all the time.

Some TEXTBOOK writer and publisher charging so much? That's outrageous.

Right, it's outrageous that some writer worked for all those years of school and graduate school to become an expert, and another five years or whatever to research, analyze, and even supply new information on an obscure subject that MIGHT be of interest to a few hundred people.

Gee, if he sold his book for $10 and he made $1,000 or so, that's enough, isn't it?

He should keep his day job and write the book all night and all weekend.

Then, getting $10 a copy, for selling to a few specialized schools and libraries, well, that's ENOUGH. He's got his fame and prestige, what does he want with MONEY?

That's the thinking behind this Texas Turd who figures copying books is a skill.

Even the most obscure topic can be AND USUALLY IS a victim of EBAY PIRACY.

While GOOGLE is slowly being forced to stop directing searches to known bootleg forums and torrents (and perhaps their own BLOGSPOT blogs loaded with Freakyshare links), EBAY remains the easiest place to find book bootlegs.

AUTHORS AND PUBLISHERS need to beware.

Fans of authors, book lovers, and those who care about Mom and Pop stores and libraries, should always know that ads that say "link will be sent to your email address" CAN be taken down just by hitting the "report this item" link, and following the drop-down menu to "listing violation...digital delivery."

The quicker the items are removed, and the faster the suspension, the better.

Ukrainian Cretin Gets EIGHT (No SIXTEEN) IDs to STEAL from American Authors

EH? SO? What you say, my friend?

Something WRONG? America is weak, Ukraine is STRONG.

So what. I get names. I make money. Why not?

Why should I not make money? There is money for all. I take. So? What your problem, what?

Look at ME! I get SIXTEEN names and post this shit. Is all the same to me.

So I get $3 each. Why you squawk? What's it to you? I UKRAINE! You mind own business. Look how pretty my ad:

This character goes to Paypal, gets an account, then struts over to eBay and starts opening up account after account.

You'd think EBAY would have a safeguard for this. Some kind of red flag.

In speaking with eBay, it was, "Yes, we see...these are all related to the same account."

That's:

pue14-2 on 201978435580 and other auction numbers.

ruslavoi1 on 282521403955 and other auction numbers.

ludsilev0 on 322581162239 and other auction numbers.

valysotnikof_0 on 263073071059 and other auction numbers.

ivamukhi-6 on 322575941278 and other auction numbers.

elengorskay-1 on 332269717561 and other auction numbers.

fedobondarchu_0 on 152614131588 and other auction numbers.

alevred-0 on 272749454357 and other auction numbers.

Calling up eBay today did get these auctions removed. But did not get the accounts suspended.

That takes time.

The seller reposted some items on a few of the accounts. AND...brought out EIGHT MORE he had stashed away.

Since eBay does NOT have a "report item" link for pointing out a fraudulent seller's multiple identities, it requires calling up eBay, and reading off the auction numbers one by one. In the meantime. Oh, look. The Man from Ukraine, pretending to be in New York, New York just posted as

vladubrovsk0 on 272750034949

n.992012_2 on 282558886011

SIX MORE...let's see when this busy American-author-thieving Ukrainian bastard signed them up.

(Remember, ALL of them list item location as NEW YORK, New York. But we see):

nikvladovi_0 253027317376 Jun-03-17 in Ukraine

vlaorgfa-0 on 172765095302 Jun-06-17 in Ukraine

vlakurc-0 on 152611335405 Jun-08-17 in Ukraine

evgeshshelmiakov_0 on 162577867698 Jun-12-17 in Ukraine

victorikudishin0 on 263071806619 Jun-12-17 in Ukraine

valysotnikof_0 on 263077034091 Jun-15-17 in Ukraine

Right, he figures if he squirrels away a few accounts and signs them up a few at a time, it's easier to hide all his nuts.

If you click the number next to an eBay seller's name, you'll get the details on his REAL location:

Let's see some of the authors being stolen from:

The filthy peasant has two or four or eight auctions for each alias. $3 per item, and all he does is send an e-mail with a download link. How many times in an hour does he plunk his magic twanger and send off stolen books on pdf and ePub and kindle? Is he making easy money on what authors toiled over hour after hour after hour?

If it's worth $3 per book to post this shit, shouldn't it be worth a publisher's time to remove them?

Shouldn't one of the so-called writer's unions/organizations have somebody on this?

A certain non-profit website found all this and reported it all. It wasn't Penguin Random House Doubleday Dell looking out for themselves and their authors, or being offended that some Eurotrash parasite was picking their pockets.

Eurotrash Bootleggers make $150 an HOUR on American Authors

Hokay, I tell you secret!

Eh? (should shrug). You Americans! So what! You know what I am saying?

What you care.

I take book and sell. So what? Is MY business, yes?

How I do? I copy books. PDF. Mobi. Epub. Kindle. Get off Internet. Steal from other bootleggers. Ha.

I go EBAY and their whore sister PAYPAL.

I get a dozen ID's. I sell. So?

English? I do not know much. I know:

THIS IS DIGITAL BOOK NO SHIPPING EMAIL DELIVERY

I put in all ad copy.

Then lookie what I do. I can make $150 ROYALTIES in an hour off all my different names.

All I do is send file in an email or send link to a GOOGLE cloud where I store it. Ha! Why not?

Listen my friend, I am clever, not like Americans! I use Americans!

Ha ha to you!

My Eurotrash friend has reasons to be cheerful.

Americans are NOT clever. They are a pretty apathetic lot. Publishers, fat cats in the best and worst of times, don't seem to care that much about piracy. They just pay authors less of an advance and cook the books on royalties.

Authors? The best-selling authors are guilty they make so much money. So live and let live to the Eurotrash parasites.

Rowling? She's busy TWEETING.

George R.R. Martin and E.L. James? They're too busy EATING.

Fact is, all the books you see below, pirated under various names, ALL with the same "THIS IS DIGITAL BOOK NO SHIPPING EMAIL DELIVERY" line, are making parasites fat.

They are helping to shutter Mom and Pop bookstores.

They are reducing library hours and closing libraries.

They are making it impossible for new writers to find an audience.

They are making it even MORE difficult for mid-catalog writers to make a decent living without being part-time, and spending most of their lives teaching brats in a junior college somewhere.

It was very easy for ME to dig up, within 15 minutes, all these Eurotrash bastards (mostly the same parasite using a variety of names and locations):

donmelt7240-4 - CHICAGO

datrenkamuli-0 LATVIA

stomanraingar_0 CYPRUS

pranavisoriu-0 LITHUANIA

vancealford246 NEW YORK

kurmangermi-0 LUXEMBOURG

kristoferunol-0 BULGARIA

zydrunasavini_0 LITHUANIA

aurimavansiuli0 LITHUANIA

martinuivo0 LIECHTENSTEIN

simavirbeli_0 LITHUANIA

savitertenul_0 CROATIA

The average title, such as HASHIMOTO'S PROTOCOL, will get 30 bidders pretty quickly, at $5.00 a book.

You'd like to make $150 in an hour? That's how.

Just copy an author's book and hoist it to EBAY, with help from PAYPAL.

Then count on CRAPATHY...the apathy whereby publishers would rather suck down a Starbucks latte during a 2 hour lunch than do what I did: spend 15 minutes checking a catch-phrase.

Another 15 minutes to send in takedowns to EBAY, and problem solved.

It's solved a lot more permanently if eBay gets takedown requests from companies, and not just via "report item" because it violates their terms. Report to VERO, and that's a more serious violation. After all, it requires an EXPERT to spend time processing the form, whereas any dope can remove a "Report Item" auction and send an innocuous form letter saying, "please don't violate our rules."

In my 15+ years of sending in VeRO (verified rights owner) forms on eBay on behalf of celebrity friends, I've always seen the abuses shrink to near nothing. The parasites get scared off when a light shines on them. It takes a minute for me to shut down a parasite's entire list. It takes them hours, even days to get a fresh bank account, Paypal account and eBay account. They give up.

They don't give up if they see CRAPATHY.

Our Eurotrash friend is delighted that the AUTHOR'S GUILD or WRITER'S GUILD or whoever these jerks are, will happily stand around at a BEA convention, pushing membership offers...which DON'T include "we will protect you against piracy."

Our Eurotrash friend laughs himself silly over how RICH AMERICANS don't care about being stolen from and used. Hell, Americans don't mind rat hair in their peanut butter, do they? Everything is "caveat emptor" in America. Let's not have government agencies working to hard on consumer protection issues. What, palm-reading and "psychics" are legal? Eh. Caveat emptor. And if you buy a forgery on eBay or get a Kindle or ePub file from somebody falsely CLAIMING he "owns" rights? EH! EH!

All it takes is an intern putting in a half hour a week. Nah.

It's fortunate there are some authors and some book lovers who DO report things to eBay because they have the time and the passion. It's unfortunate that some publishers don't do their part, and some authors would rather Tweet nonsense than take a stand against people pirating their own words.

And SO IT GOES, as my late friend Mr. Vonnegut put it.

Slobs in Lithuana, Croatia, Latvia...as well as RUSSIA of course, and SRI LANKA and even AUSTRALIA are happy to make easy money off Americans.

Whether it's 40 copies at $3 each, 20 at $6 each, or 30 at $5 each, that's money going to parasites, money that authors and publishers don't see, and remember, for every book stole'd, one ain't sold.

Ebay bidders get used to finding the latest best sellers and self-help books for a fraction of what legit download places like Amazon charge. They get used to the idea of enjoying hours, weeks, and months of reading WITHOUT BUYING A LEGIT BOOK.

The message the smug Eurotrash booksellers send is EAT DIRT.

They think American CRAPATHY means they won't be reported, or they think they are so much smarter than Americans, that even with their broken English, their multiple identities can't be found and they'll never be suspended.

The insanity here, is that you don't see mp3 files sold on eBay.

You don't see MOVIES being sold via download bootlegs.

You don't see MUSIC being sold via download bootlegs.

But BOOKS? The Publishing Industry is supposed to be literate and smart, but they aren't doing nearly enough to stamp out piracy on EBAY the way the music and movie people have.

Eternal vigilance pays off. The Sri Lanka cartel used to be huge on eBay. All it took was a few authors, a few dedicated vigilantes. It took some "buy and bust" procedures (reporting the download links to Paypal, filing for refunds) to blow the whistle on wiseguys who weren't overtly mentioning DIGITAL DOWNLOAD in an ad.

If the authors and publishers of the above books got in the game, the jerks listed above would be suspended faster and NOT come back.
